Meat Loaf cancels his performance

28/Jul/2010

American rock musician Meat Loaf has cancelled a concert in Canada due to the flu.

According to Union Events, the singer cancelled his performance at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg due to illness.

In a statement the promoter said: "Under the advisement of his doctor, Meat Loaf is recovering from the flu and will not be performing his scheduled appearance. He regrets any inconvenience to his fans as a result of his illness."

The concert was supposed to be held as part of the "Hang Cool Tour," which includes shows in Edmonton, Calgary, and other North American cities until early September.

Following advice from a doctor not to take to the stage, the 62-year-old singer also cancelled shows scheduled for July 20 in Windsor, Ontario and July 22 in Detroit.

So far, there are no plans to reschedule the concert, while it is said that tickets will be refunded at their point of purchase.
